I am in Freeport, IL. Not very far from Madison area. I would be willing to attend as well.
For the enjoyment of all, we may need to establish a dress code, banning certain colors, while encouraging others.
Red is always good, and green and gold are quality colors too. There are a couple of different shades of purple/blue that could lead to problems. Orange is bad on a couple levels.
No orange? Can't meet during hunting season then.
Nope, got to go with a nice dark blue and orange for at least 2 reasons. And I've found that a nice
red C on your cap goes a long way when visiting here at Wrigley North.

We'll put you in charge of the SX chip projects, and let you drink Budweiser.
OK, While we've got some steam rolling, let's start getting real. Date Options that work for me:
Saturday, July 10th
Sunday, July 11th
Saturday, July 17th
Saturday, July 18th
I'm not suggesting that the date be planned around my schedule, but somebody has to start throwing things against the wall.
My thoughts on format (with those thoughts and a dollar bill, you can get a soda from the machine down the hall) would be a 2 - 4 hour "formal" part of the meeting with about half the time (at most) for speakers, and the balance for general discussion and "social networking" (hanging out for us old guys).
This (social networking) would be the time to have any projects on display, or deal with code questions.
After "adjournment" and CLEAN UP, we could meander over to a location offering greater social amenaties in terms of food and/or refreshments.
We have lots of suggestions for a location to meet up, and there may be a bit of "chicken or the egg" in terms of date/location, but again, let's start seeing what sticks to the wall.
And lastly, NO, I am NOT volunteering to be the OBC of the PCB group! Let's make this a team effort!
Please quote this post and edit as you see fit.· That way we can keep the agenda ideas in one spot...
I have no idea who, what, where, when, why or how, but here's some thoughts on things to cover:
Prop Debugging Tools· (anyone want to present?)
Should we work on a "This is Parallax" for the various schools in the area (UW, MATC, Phoenix, Herzing, K-12 schools, etc.)· I'm thinking timing for putting something like this on·would be early in the semister.
Next meeting
How formal/informal should the group be?
Scope(s) of Interest (prop only, any Parallax processor, any processor, sensors, etc.)
Scope(s) of Interest (prop only, any Parallax processor, any processor, sensors, etc.)
I like Parallax processors due to my real experiance with the BS2p, I'm realatively new with spin and the Prop. I would mostly attend to meet people with interests in Parralax productss and some of the sensor technologies and sub assemblys are super fun and cool.
I am haveing twins on the 1st so the farther into june the better, she is haveing a C section on the 1st and I will not be able to leave her alon with 2 babies for at least 3 weeks for any real amount of time.

I'd be happy to discussion lighting related items such as DMX, dimming technologies (phase angle and sinewave), ethernet protocols like ArtNet and ACN. Not sure how much interest there is in that sort of thing.
I cannot make the 10th or 11th, and I'm not at all sure about the following weekend.
If I can make it, I'd be happy to present some stuff on Prop and XBee, and perhaps also GPS.
I vaguely remember PBR. It used to be made here, in fact, once upon a time, back in the days when you cared about the differences between one watered-down pilsner and another. Now, of course, we drink beer from New Glarus, Sprecher, Lakeside Brewery, Milwaukee Ale House, or the St. Francis Brew Pub.

It's not dead in my mind but hasn't been a priority as of late since my attention has been directed elsewhere. With that said something interesting has happened since this thread started, a Hackerspace has opened in Madison which might be a good venue and could be a nice event for them and us. The problem is I have yet to go down there and check it out and I don't have a lot of time at present to do so.
