You know, I've written several articles for SERVO, one in this months as a matter of fact. I've found them to be genuine and easy to deal with folks. Their checks clear and they work with you as a writer. They also have not ever advertised themselves as the IEEE, peir reviewed journal.
Now, as for incompleteness or bad conclusions in journalism - why are we beating up SERVO, there are much bigger fish in that pond. Anyone who starts doing research is going to find themselves looking at Parallax products. How many high schools do you think have those 'other' products in the labs.
What I find amazing is that Whit said something negitive.

Cheers Everyone - it's Friday!

Come on Jim! Everybody slips...

I was just mad that Parallax got such a dismissive review. The folks at Servo responded very well to the comments and said they would check on it. I'm still receiving Servo.

OBC offered the guy a Prop and no response. No accounting for taste. I am not anti anyone else's product - just pro Parallax - because of my experience here and with the company.

I used PICAXE before I discovered the prop.. It's got it's place.. As slave to my Propeller. :)

All kidding aside, it's pretty powerful for what it is, but not nearly as much fun.

logan996,

All I know is what I have read. They seem to me be very good for a specific applications and are available in sizes to fit the the use. I have seen lots of articles and designs where a particular size is used. I also know that many people use them in combo with other microprocessors to solve certain problems.

I also know that they can be·cheaper in specific applications. Again - I'm not a user - I just know what I've seen and what I've read. I've never had a use·where I wanted to give them a try...

As OBC said about his start·- I know people that started there and wound up here and vice versa -·Sometimes based a particular use.
