I'm going to have some shirts made for the expo(s).

I was thinking something simple like:

I [Prop Logo]
I L

For whatever state its in. On the Front, and the Expo Title and Year on the back ie:

UPENE 09

For the Prop Logo section, should I go with:
1) The multi-colored Beanie
2) The QFN-44 Image
3) The LQFP-44 Image

Any Comments, Ideas?

Rick

Yes JamesRonald, the year, event name and state will reflect the correct info for whatever expo is taking place :)
    It was just an example.

If the QFN-44 is used, then it will be B/W = Cheap.

    Rick

EDIT: JamesRonald - if you meant that the year be below the event title, sounds good to me, it means that the event title can be bigger :)

    Rick,
    Are you accepting sponsers ?
Seriously, I'd like to get "PropBASIC" on them somehow. But I understand if you want to keep them "clean".

Well, whatever would make the cost to the end customer cheaper sounds good to me.
I know I would be more likely to pick up 2 or 3 shirts at an expo if they were $5 a peice.

You were thinking this on the Back?
    Something Like:

    UPENE
    2010

    Sponsored by
    PropBASIC

That makes me think your sponsoring the Expo, and not the Shirt.
    Are you Sponsoring the Expo?

Also this makes it seem like your the only entity sponsoring the Expo, am I wrong on this?

OBC, how many sponsors are there for the upcoming Expo?
Maybe we give the Sponsors an option to contribute toward the shirts for a spot on it?

    I'm open to suggestions here.

    Rick,
I want to sponser the shirt not the expo. So there is no confusion, maybe just omit the "Sponsored by" part.
I was thinking maybe you could get more sponsors and be able to give one shirt free to each attendee. And sell extras if they want more than one.

    Something like:
    UPENE
    2010

    Parallax
    Gadget Gangster
    PropBASIC

What do you think ? I don't know how much it would cost, but I'd be willing to pony up a hundred bucks or so.

    Bean,

OK I see what your saying.

Well Free would be optimal, we would need several Sponsors to make that happen.
But there is still enough time so maybe we can make that happen.

I was thinking 100 Shirts for the order, does that sound right?

Edit: If any vendors/people want to contribute $100 ($1 per Shirt) to have a Logo on it please contact me.

Just a quick update, I have been speaking with Shirt companies this morning.
For·Gildan Ultra Cotton (Description: Gildan 100% preshrunk heavyweight 6.1oz cotton T-Shirt)
    Which is a decent Shirt.

With 1 color on the Front and·1 color on the Back at a qty of 100, it will cost $4.96 per shirt (sizes Small - XL) all included.

So far with Bean's commitment we have Expo Shirts at $4 each!

I'm really liking the way this is going.

Another $100 from Parallax and they would be $2.00 roll.gif

Rick would these be available to people that can't make certain expos? Maybe on a pre-order basis?

·While that may be true, at each expo I've been at, Parallax·and other volunteers have gone·all out in providing things that they really didn't have to (Food, Hardware, Location Space, On hand staff, Organizing time....the list goes on).

And this year there will now be 3 expos! Thats triple the amount of all that stuff, not counting travel expenses for Parallax. I would really prefer it if we can reach a "Free" Expo shirt just with contributions from people who sell stuff at the expos. And even if free is not entirely possible, I'm hoping the·cost will get down to a very small price (like $2 or $1).

Well, I'm hoping that 100 Shirts would cover each expo. I would be open to checking the forums after an expo and seeing if we can get enough·demand·to cover a run for folks who couldn't make it, but then we fall into a situation where the cost per shirt will be higher if its not in the initial order.
Let me think on that one a bit·and see how many shirt sponsors we get, perhaps if we get enough, we can up the·initial run to 150 shirts, and find a way to fairly distribute to those that want these but could not pick one up in person.

Rick, I have a good friend in Lincoln, CA (10 minutes from Parallax) that does shirts and banners. I am checking with him as to what kind of deal he can give to see if it would work out better than whatever you have found so far. Might be able to get a free extra color or something too. Would also be free shipping to Parallax for UPEW since I could just drop them off there (I live 20 minutes from Parallax).

Sorry, yes. Not sure if it helps, but for an "other than white" shirt with one color on front and one color on back, the price is $7. I just asked for a quick estimate, so if that's in a reasonable ballpark, PM me your email address and I can get him on track with you to discuss some specifics.

actually, just reread the thread and it looks like your $4.96 is better.........

The shipping was also included in the $4.96.

Make that $2 dollar shirts at most... Mikronauts.com is in the house!

Two more sponsors and its free shirts for 100 people.

What about using the same layout for all two (or three) expo's?

    The shirt could read:

    Unofficial Propeller Expo 2010

then it is appropriate regardless of which expo in 2010 - and if a few more sponsors chip in, maybe you can get 150-200 shirts, which would be enough for two Expo's!

I also suggest that the first sponsors get the front :)

I don't know if 100 per expo will be enough. If the idea is to put a shirt in each goody bag, then we need to know how many folks OBC is planning for, then add extras on to that number for sales at the expo.

Well now that the date has been set, and thanks to OBC's new registration techniques, we will be able to make sure we have enough with little or no guess work.

@Bill - I know it might be cheaper to order one large lot for all the expos, but I would like each Expo to have its own shirt, who knows what may end up unfolding (themes etc)·, and I know we have sponsors this time around which are making them extremely affordable (yourself included-thank you), but even if we don't have that for every expo they will still be priced to move.

I also got confirmation from OBC that if these shirts do hit a "free" price point, they can be given out when people receive their goodie bags, this will be a fair distribution system at the expo.

    Sounds good.

You just have to figure out what to do if they end up not $0, and not all sell... however I don't think it will be difficult to come up with two more sponsors.

Also, if more than 100 people show up... then the first 100 get the shirt :)

I don't think I can make it to Chicago :-( but I will be at UPEW!

You could always do one shirt per year - but have 3 checkboxes (one for each expo) to indicate attendance. :)

I hope to be in "Chicago" and Norwalk but probably won't make west. I'm in for a shirt or two from each (free or not).
