Seriously! Ouch, and have a speedy recovery.

One question:

Was it worth it? (evil grin)

Couldn't bring myself to look at the larger pictures. Ouch.

I wish you a speedy recovery and happy spinning in the meantime.

Wait...Isn't it winter in Italy? Motorbike in the winter?

Seriously, having had to deal with a broken foot for the last 2 months, I know what it will be like.

But...a foot injury is MUCH better than a head injury!

Speedy Recovery!

Thank you all for the nice words.

Yes, and it was due to ice on the road. I had my Impreza STI on the annual service and after having used for the whole week the wife's car I take the motorbike because of the nice sunny day. BTW: If it is not raining I usually use the motorbike (all year).

I am used to see the glass half full rather than half empty:
1. For the first time I'll spend all the Cristmas·& new year hollydays (25.12 to 06.01) with my family (usually I work in this period)
2. I was a week in the hospital room with a famous soccer player from the past (prosthesis of the hip)
3. (For the moment) I have stopped smoking (13 days today)
4. I have a 312hp STI, a street motorbike, I ride windsurf when the wind is 100/120 km/h: I am happy when I fly at low quota - It's my nature, I love cornering by gas pedal instead of by steering wheel
... so ... the answer is YES
hover1 said...
But...a foot injury is MUCH better than a head injury!
Definitely yes. But it was my fault: I didn't wear the right(motorbike) shoes. If I don't wear the whole overall in skin I always have however the shoes and all the protections from the waist in on (even in the hottest summer day)

Thank you Cluso.

I'm still in the office thinking about going home to join the celebrations but I just got this in an email from my boss:

"Be careful, four people has been shot at mall and the killer on loose."

Sure enough, four dead and a maniac running around a couple of hundred meters away from here. What a great way to end the year. Hope to be with you all later...

Edit: Toll has gone up to six as I typed that...

If you do venture out, and the worst should happen, can I have your prop stuff ???

All in all I have found Finland to be quite a safe place. Even when living in what some would call "the wrong end" of Helsinki I have observed less random violence going than during my years in Oxford, England.

But in recent years there has been a spate school shooting sprees and drug related warfare.

Anyway, enough of these dark thoughts. Sorry I brought it up really. Soon I'm going to pop some bublley on the balcony and watch the fire works. Even if it is -12C out there.

Happy New Year All. May your Propellers spin and your Cogs engage you in happy adventures in the new year.

And to you, Heater, as to all on the forum.

It's a standing joke at my work, the slightest sign of illness - a request for their laptop goes out ( it's the only way of getting one or getting an upgrade. Currently we have two old and very battered 600MHz ones )

Maybe we all should setup a dead man switch, where killer stuff gets shipped, if we are checked out.

Oh·come-on Heater....what violence in Oxford.....I admit I was there too long ago now and things may have
changed .... but VIOLENCE????? Please explain....I would be very saddened if that is the case.
·
I am glad you are safe.... It reminds me of when I was in Leicester Square in London and an IRA bomb went off
in the Swiss Center where I was almost going to eat and decided to go across the road to Angus Steak House instead and
only a few minutes after I sat down the bomb went off in the exact place I would have been had·I not changed my mind.
·
Too many years have passed and it is a fading memory, But I can honestly say that my years at Oxford were the best of my
life..... but one never appreciates what one has until one moves on to what one thought (wrongly)·are better destinations.

Happy New Year to yall...

The Road Not Taken (Robert Frost)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Sam: Never mind "long ago" the violence in Oxford has been going on for decades even for centuries. You see, on the one hand it is very upper-class, wealthy and academic, dreaming spires and so, on the other hand it is actually an industrial working town. There is a reason why the stone walls around the colleges are so high and if you look closely you will see they were built higher some long time ago. Those walls are not just for decoration, they really are defence. The rich people defending themselves against the poor.

If you doubt any of this check this amazing story: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutteslowe

Anyway this is way off topic and to depressing for New Year.

Have fun all.

Best Fireworks Winner so far... Sydney, Australia. I have seen about 7 different shoots, but by far Sydney has eveyrone beat. I heard it took 10 computers to manage that shoot.

How many Propellers would it take? Hmm... a little DMX..RS485..maybe some MIDI..

Jim

Glad to here that that fellow in Findland will not be taking any more lives. Heater can now be safe.

Hapy New Year everyone!

Still a bit late (I am moving by using crutches) but is going better day by day. Thanks to everyone.

@Heater: Not unerstoodconfused.gif - are you still in the office?confused.gif·· In Italy we are used to say, that, what is happening to you for the new year will happen for all the year: "take it half full" - you'll be in business for the entire 2010.smilewinkgrin.gif (Good considering economical crises of these days)

That's good hear. Despite the tragedy unfolding near by we did get our project at work up and running for it's end of year deadline. Then it was off home for a very jolly new year party.
