    Looks great! Congratulations...

Would you mind sharing the 3M part number for that SD connector? That seems solderable by mere mortals...

Just finished testing out the second prototype yesterday and everything works, only flaw was a missing wire so that the PS/2 mouse connection can be replaced by a USB connector. You can see I soldered in jumper wires to fix the prototype and it actually works... You can just plug in a mouse to the USB connector and have it work (assuming the mouse is PS/2 compatible. This just saves you from needing the green adapter.).

Anyway, just took the plunge and ordered 50 boards. Should arrive just before Christmas.

If anyone is still interested in a bare PCB, let me know and I'll come up with a price...

That's hot!· So you've got the LCD and VGA out on the same board.· Are they on the same Prop pins?· I think another of your threads said that was the plan.· Is it this case that one would use only one at a time?· If so, can one keep both plugged in at the same time?· Does one need to take any precautions in switching between output devices?·

You've also got composite video, which is quite convenient.· Where's the jumper you mentioned to permit using a USB connector?· I think I see a small jumper snaking diagonally off the lower-right corner of J12.· Avoiding the green/blue adapter USB-PS/2 thingy would be nice.· What are the three vertical resistors over by the composite connector?· Are they for video, as in the standard design?· If so, maybe·the unpopulated R19 is for audio.· I'm curious as to why they are·axial devices as opposed to surface mount.· Also, I see composite video output pins over on J9, so, if·using them, one would provide their own resistors off board?

Do you still have the USB-232Serial chip on board?· Perhaps U2.· But I noticed that you have added·a PropPlug header compared to your PSM board.

    Anyway, really great-looking and functionally-rich board!· Congrats on your newborn.· It's a board!· Thanks for the update.

    Bill:· Here's the Digikey part# 3M5646CT-ND

JRetSapDoog:· Yes, LCD and VGA share pins, so you can only have 1 at a time.· Yes, there's an FT232RL...

I'm using non-surface mount for all the optional things that use the 8-free pins (TV, keyboard, mouse).

I'd be interested on 3-5 in an assembled w/o screen config, as I have a few screens w/o breakout boards.

Unfortunately, I'm paying the price for using ExpressPCB... They're terriffic for their standard 3.8x2.5" boards, but these large boards are a lot more pricey... I'm probably going to have to charge something like $15 for a bare PCB...

Once you order your boards from ExpressPCB, you can send them an email (I believe it's sales@expresspcb.com and ask for gerbers for your design. The charge is $60, but it might be worth it.

I'm interested in buying 1 maybe 2 also. Do you have a rough estimate of the parts costs if fully populated?

$150 would be a great price, assuming that is fully loaded with the display.
Would it also include all the soldering and whatever other assembly? (I'm a programmer, my soldering skills are sad.)

I'm thinking of doing all the SMT stuff and providing those through-hole parts in a bag. I'm not sure everybody will want those through-hole components, which is why it's done that way to begin with... Those things use up the 8 free pins, which some people may need for other things...

But, I've seen Gadget Gangster do some soldering if people need it...

Actually, that $150 (if I can do it) would be for a "like new" display. Would be ~$12 cheaper with a "used" display...

I can handle thru hole, but I'd pay a little more to get one fully built, because like I said my aim to to do programming on it. So, I don't mind if it uses all the pins up for stuff on the board.
I do understand that many folks would prefer the option, but I prefer to avoid soldering if I can. I do use the breadboard for experimenting though. I love my PPDB!
