Thanks, Steve... it's really just scratching the surface :)
I'm wondering what the tiny, surface-mount cable connectors are called. Here's my fancy ANSI graphic of what one looks like, plan-view (looking at board). One of them measures < 1/4 inch X 1/4 inch. Ribbon cable terminates in a mating, male plug. Pins are easily about half the spacing of the narrow version of SOIC legs. Seems like tapping these and monitoring would be a good hack first step.

Yes - it's easy - but if you want to put it back together again, you just have to watch a few plastic parts that fall loose on opening (See my post after yours on 9/15).
The hardest part is fumbling with those tiny connectors.
@Steve (Jazzed) - sorry, I didn't put in the exact number of pins on the connector. It's more like 8 pairs. These are in use for connecting the front to back (where the speaker and wheel/button are). And also for connecting the board to the other side. (More pics to follow). They aren't for programming, but I bet we could splice into them, get the right voltages, hang a prop off them - and "PropAlyze" them?
Guys can you get them online? I went to CT Target store and asked for them they looked at me like I was stupid?? well ask anything and you get that look but seriously they said they did not carry them and called other target for me in CT of course and other stores said no.
Mine turns on but will never connect to the cell system. I assume that there are no towers for the cell system they use here.· I have been trying to get into the menu to see if I can get the free upgrade, but cannot get past the screen asking email login information.

You need to go on-line and pay to activate the peek using the IMEI number on the box or under the battery. At least that's how I understand it to work. I'm too cheap to spend the money for activation. ·

I'll send you one of the units I picked up. I bought three of them "just in case" someone wasn't able
to score one at the local Target.
PM me and we'll work on the details.
