The products will be available from xgamestation.com just look on the left panel for "Chameleons", I should have them up this week. As far as the tool you mentioned, anything that supports PIC ISP programming port, or anything that puts out a normal PIC24 binary image will work with the bootlooader and a serial connection. So you can use whatever you want to program with -- the idea is that for the AVR/PIC you can either program them directly with the ISP port and whatever tool you want OR you can load a bootloader on the AVR/PIC and then program it with whatever tool that particular bootloader likes.
The Prop is programmed always over the serial port.
Lastly, the schematics, drivers, source some with the product on the DVD when you buy it.
