Recieved msg from him today. Check(package) is in the mail. Hmm. Upsets me the only way i hear from him is when I post here.

This was not an ebay purchase but a purchase from a guy on this forum.

Btw, when I got the refund from paypal they said 45 days to file for dispute.

If I get stuff all wil be forgiven. Sad, I was hoping to do some serious business with him..

Thanks Coley for the kind remarks. I try and do my best at customer service and shipping.

I imagine most people on the forum would there best, after all we are following a good example like Parallax.

I am seriously at a loss now as what to do. Forget about it and write it off. Let the next buyer beware.

He said he mailed it last wednesday. We are less than 400 miles apart and still nothing. I will wait till next wednesday then?

@mosquito56, please reveal the person that you are dealing with. I, sometimes, have considered, buying stuff from forum members, but it sounds like he is giving you the run-around. I would like to avoid that, so if I know who it is, I can use a 'buyer beware' attitude when considering him. I guess an option would be, send me a PM, on this forum.

No need for any private messages. You guys deserve to know what sellers are good, and which ones aren't so good. It seems lately, I'm falling into the second category. I had finals at the end of May, and to be honest mosquito's stuff got put on the back burner for a while. Once I finally shipped it, I screwed up yet again with the zipcode, and got it returned to me. By that time my summer school classes just started and I was in the process of moving into a new apartment on campus. So, again, it got put on the back burner. It's not like it would have taken much time to do, but with all the stuff going on, for a good while, the thinking of "ahhhh I'll have to ship that tomorrow... and then tomorrow... etc.", would happen. On top of that, I haven't had my computer up here to communicate since it was damaged during the move(case got bashed in and motherboard was damaged).

This is absolutely my fault, and in no way should this reflect on ANY of the honest, hardworking people on this forum. This is a case of me screwing up royally, and for that, I appologize to Don(Mosquito56) and the forum as a whole. I hope the "goodies" I sent help make up for all this trouble, if only a small bit.

Phil,
Owning up to the problem goes a long way to making up for the problem. In my eyes at least.
I also appreciate Don not bad mouthing you by name until all the facts are known. Very classy Don.

Bean.

That describes me and my projects... I moved home last week from school, and now it's an uphill battle to take back some space. I seem to remember that I had a room in the house before I went off to college, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it. It seems to have a bunch of mom stuff in there... :)

mosquito, I'm glad it's there. I'm working on a list of items, and descriptions/datasheet links for each. I'll be sending that later this evening, so I hope it helps sort through it all.

When I left home in '86 and headed to CA my parents sold the house and moved to MA.

Now we all live in WA.

'Something similar here: I moved to WA from IN, then my youngest brother, then the middle brother. They had kids, and the lure of grandchildren was just too much for my folks, so they moved out. We were all in different cities, though, spread across the state.

There are four things I miss about the Midwest: thunderstorms, fireflies, good sweet corn, and vine-ripened tomatoes. The rest of it you can have. smile.gif

Wow.... I still haven't gotten the item someone offered me back in the first week of May... I shouldn't be too hard on them, as it was free....

The phrase "nothing in life is ever free" applies to this situation....

These are four very good reasons I live in NE Ohio. That and the fantastic views when you drive into the hills. To the disgust of my neighbors I'm also a dandelion fanatic, but they grow every where up north. :)

Before moving to Lincoln when I was a teenager I lived on a small farm between Rising City and David City, NE. We saw lots of tornadoes. Even a saw a water spout once while I was home alone when a small tornado touched down in our pond. My mom was heavily involved in REACT at the time, we went out tornado spotting frequently.

Anyway, to continue the "You can never go home" theme, that home does not exist anymore, thanks to a tornado.

p.s. I miss the sound of the Cicadas.

Ah, Nebraska --- My dad was a severe storms meteorologist, he and my mom were Kansan's. I was born in Kansas, lived there a while... long enough to watch him stand outside and take pictures of many a twister.· Never once thought about chasing one though!!

My son wants to study meteorology too. When I mentioned to my father that we were moving to the coast of florida - where hurricane dodging is a summer sport - he replied, "Well, obviously the meteorological knowledege skips a generation."
_______
RE Bugs:
We have too many cicadas down here - they're big and sound like mini buzz saws

http://entomology.ifas.ufl.edu/creatures/misc/bugs/cicadas.htm
... and don't get me started on the Palmetto bug (The giant flying Florida roach that can eat it's way through a gum wrapper.)

Cheers

PS to mosquito56 and Philldapill - glad you worked through the problems Phil - and explaned it here. I trust people more when they make a mistake and learn from it, rather than try to ignore it.

Ah, the joys of living here in the midwest(DM). Earlier this week I was helping friends with bailing hay when a storm came through. Before it hit the temp display in my truck read 101f 30min later it read 72f, lots of rain and hail came with it. You freeze in the winter and fry in the summer.

The measure shouldn't be if a mistake is made, but what the response is. Once I shipped a kit to the wrong appt # - I didn't know until a month later when he emailed me. Since then, I ship everything with a tracking number & I copy & paste the address from paypal (instead of retyping). Errors are rare but they do happen - I just hope everyone's as understanding as mosquito. Having Phil 'man up' is respectable, too.

Most scammers are just shortsighted - you make more money doing what you say and getting repeat business. They're usually very easy to spot, too: 1 post on the forums, western union only, extremely low price, etc. I've done business with several people on the forums and I've always had a good experience.
