Confusing LCD 12C/Serial

·· I just got my LCD 12/serial board and mounted it to my generic 2 X 16 LCD display. First I downloaded the sample program provided to a BS2 homework board. Iy just lit up. Next I tried it on my updated Grow bot. It has a new BS2 installed. Two lines of text showed up for a secong and disappeared. Does anyone have any test programs for this device? While I am on the subject, I will be getting a substitute LCD·#SGX-120L 120X32 graphics LCD in place of the Parallax 2 X 16 LCD the dealer misplaced. A good deal but more confusion? Does anyone have any experience and sample programs for this on too? If too confusing back to Ebay. Parts are starting to arrive in bunches. Appreciate any help offered. Some docs for you guys to look at. Thanks
