stamp works question...

I am workig on the stamp works kit, and I am still a little new to reading the schematics. hoping that someone can help me out here and help me verify that I have this wired up before I end up blowing something lol. I am working on experiment 16 in the guide using the NE555 precision timer. based on the schematic of the circuit, here is what I have hooked up:

P1 through P4 of the 555 timer are inserted on F25 through F28 of the breadboard, with P8 through P5 of the 555 timer inserted on E25 through E28.

the capictor is inserted in J34 and J35.

Jumper1 goes from G25 to the Vss Rail.
Jumper2 goes from J26 to I35.
Jumper3 goes from G27 to P15 on the stamp.
Jumper4 goes from G28 to the Vdd Rail.
Jumper5 goes from I34 to the Vss Rail.
Jumper6 goes from D27 to H26.
Jumper7 goes from D26 to A35.
Jumper8 goes from D25 to the middle port of the POT.
Jumper9 goes from C25 to the Vdd Rail.
Jumper10 goes from C35 to the bottom port of the POT.
I then have a 1K resistor bridged from F35 to E35.

thanks guys. its already been a monday lol.

It might be easier to add a close-up picture of your circuit so that we can see your set up.

here are two shots of the PDB with the circuit I constructed. little fuzzy that close up but should be clear enough to see what I laid out. thanks!

I could be wrong, but I don't see a connection to I/O pin 15?· I know that you mentioned it in your listing.

yes, I have a jumper running from pin 3 of the NE555 (its a white wire running from what is G27 on my breadboard to P15 on the stamp). sorry if the colors create a jumble on the pictures. trying to keep from making a bunch of useless jumpers.

    Dave -

ok...I am blind. I went back over the circuit with another set of eyes (my boss actually) who pointed out the obvious - that I had actually tied the jumper into the port for LED 15 instead of P15 on the stamp. I also found a post (finally) from another person on this same experiment on the stamps in class forum that Andy Lindsay posted an answer to referencing a few other manuals that I downloaded. the link for that post is here:

thanks for your help Dave, and hopefully this will help some others too! hop.gif
