PropBoard Complete!
For those of you that have followed the evolution of my PropBoard, it's complete. This is why the thread is now in the Sandbox.
For those of you that have not followed the thread, here it is:
http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=773086
I've been rather careless with Propellers, and have fried one too many due to crossing a wire, having a wire come loose on the breadboard, dunking the board in a pool(long story), etc., so I said enough is enough, and made my own PCB. The board is essentially a pre-wired PCB that has the regulators and all circuitry needed to run the propeller from a 2.1mm, center positive, DC Jack. The board can either be plugged into a breadboard, or have female header pins so that wires can plug into it. I/O Pins 0-27, 3.3V, and GND are all on these front pins, for a total of 30 pins. This just so happens to plug right into the breadboard that comes with the education kit!
The board also has some optional features such as a Dual RCA Jack with TV Composite and Audio circuitry wired up, yet removable via 4 jumper pins. It also has a PS/2 port which is again, removable via 2 disconnect jumper pins. It also has·female headers for access to the 5V, and Vin voltages.·The board uses a DIP version of the Propeller, along with a DIP EEPROM for easy removal and replacement if you burn a chip up. I'm having this fabricated by a PCB manufacturer, and to keep the costs to a minimum, I'm ordering 35 boards and components for them. Right now, I have orders for 27 of these boards, so 8 are remaining. I'm not making these to make a big profit, but rather to understand the whole process of designing the board on my computer, to having it manufactured and delivered. Later, I will be getting some high priced boards made for an unrelated use, so this is sort of a trial run to see how it goes. Because of this, I'm selling this at cost(plus about a buck for the time spent shipping them out). The price is $11 a board, that's with shipping included. Still cheaper than a single propeller chip itself...
Attached are some pictures of the design on EAGLE PCB, and a couple pictures of the finished prototype.
If you'd like a board, please PM with how many you want, and your shipping address. I can only ship within the US for this price. Shipping will be via USPS First Class Mail.

Bob, I THINK I can ship to Canada, but I'm sure it will cost a little more, indeed. I have another guy who wants it shipped to Canada, so I'm going to check tomorrow at the post office.
Actually got signed up to order!
as a complete noob I realise I need a Prop programmer
would someone be so kind as to point me in the cheapest direction?
sofar I am onto the Parallax Prop Plug - right direction for Phill's board?
thanks

at the post office?
ircalc.usps.gov/
you have a choice of
First-Class Mail® International Package
but if things get lost on the way to your particular country then EMS is the best
Express Mail® International
either way there is no need to use a courrier service these days...
regards all the way from Tokyo

Cheers
You can put me down for another one for a total of 2. I just killed a PLL on a proto board.

I've noted the change. Thanks!
I need 4 for sure, but I would like as many as possible... so, put me in for 4 and whatever nobody else wants.
Great work.
Rich
Really, thanks everybody! I only set out to make 15 of these, and now 45 is looking like not enough... And thank you Parallax for the great products and forum!
I need a microphone that works:)

BTW Rich, I ended up with 2 extra boards. You said you wanted at least 4 or whatever no one else claimed, so if you want a total of 6 boards, let me know. Thanks!
I'm looking seriously at my ProPPhone project... Seems like I will learn a lot from doing it. What software do you use for your boards?
Rich
I'll count you in for six then. Thanks again!
So... since you are a business man now... I really like your design... but I want to add a few features... which I've never done before need a good
starting place..
Would you be willing to sell the "source files?"
Rich
I gotta ask. Any idea on the time frame for the boards?
Ed
Actually, I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow to get my eyes checked!
The manufacturer FINALLY emailed me back about them(3 days to get a reply...). They were shipped yesterday, so we are looking at around Jan. 20th for them to arrive. It could take a couple days longer, but futurlec stuff that I order rarely takes the 7-10 days that they claim. Usually about 6-8 days.
