Hello,

This is the Sonny Windwater Solar tracker. It uses RCTIME to detect which direction the sun is at, then uses 2 servo motors to aim the panel at the sun. It runs on the 12 volt battery that the panel charges. It the sends the location of the tracker or wether it is sleeping or reset for morning.

John Kerr and I did this for a project for electronic engineer technician course at Nove Scotia Community College in 3 weeks.

I have included some pix, the schematics and the code for it. I hope you all enjoy. The code will come later as my computer is crashing on the stamp editor and I cannot open it. Will send it from school.

sorry just photoresistors, but nothing says Canada like a road hockey ball or a puck. Hockey ball was hollow ; - )

Nice table top unit but it doesn't look like it would stand up to the elements. I just installed 1000watts of solar panels with a wattsun dual axis tracker. I thought about using a basic stamp but it came down to being able to build something weather resistant, reliable, and with a warranty right out of the box. I would recommend using a 'real' tracker on any 'real' solar installation one might be considering.
