I think I'm up to about 30 of them. More info here: http://www.robotroom.com/BigTrak.html
BTY: No relation to the author of that web site!
One day, if I ever get time to finish it, I would like to have a Propeller chip·be it's brain. But as busy as life gets it will·probably have to·wait another 20 years, until I get to retirement age, if I live that long!

http://www.amazon.com/PC-Hardware-Interfaces-Developers-Reference/dp/193176929X· no single wire, minimal time spent on SPI, but good details on I2C

I'm not sure at what level you need, but I've attached an article you might find helpful for starters.
have fun,

@Capt. Quirk,
thanks for the links - much appreciated.
@Mark, aka ElectricAye,
Great user name, btw, Aye Aye - thanks very much for the file. I'm studying any materials available, even down to timing diagrams (gads, there goes my social life!).
@Mike,
Wow! When you reach retirement, you might have time to have your own bot battles - who knows, maybe there'll be a 64-bit, 16 cog Prop chip ... Big Trak with Big Brain!
@All,
was thinking it appropriate to post a review of the information you all have kindly provided. It will take a bit though as I can only work on this in small chunks. If you have any more suggestions, please let me know.
Cheers!
