Dan, the Man! He helped me out of my jam. Now I can continue to go forward. Guess what my problem was??? The baud rate was set to high. I failed to read it had to be 9600 baud, so I had it set for maximum. I should have remembered that from my old days when I worked with serial modems. Oh well, I am back in the saddle again!! Glory Haleluia!
I was caught up running errands, so I haven't mailed the care package that I described.
Seeing that you are over the hump in the road, I will put it aside for now.
If you need the Protoboard or anything in the future, just give a shout.

Thank You, Quantum. I was kinda looking forward to redoing the board. Because I have soldered and unsoldered all the wiring three complete times. I had plan to put some male and female headers so I could just plug the wires in instead of soldering. I have quite a mess right now. But, it is not a complete and total necessity right now. I am a neat freak, so sloppy wiring bothers me. But, again, that is my issues.
@Quantum: If your jammed up, I've got to do a ton of shipping in the morning.
I'd also be happy to send him a fresh board. I got two of them myself because
I was counted in the attendees at the Expo. I doubt I'll get to using them any
time soon thanks to the PPDB I'm playing with..
