    OBC,
Seems to very exspensive to set up for plastic ,I was waiting to see how much interest there was for this case to decide what way to head. I'm going to proceed with a second prototype that will have a machined base like the amsat radio box in the first post of this thread and I'll bend up the shell with a removable top.

    Brian,

Any update on this? Too Expensive to manufacture in small quantity?
What if this was produced in something other than plastic?

    Whit,
Correct about drive wheels, why reinvent the wheel! Like always Parallax has done a stand up job on the wheel/motor combos. They always seem to take a good idea and make it a SUPER idea. What else can I say "I'm impressed".

Will you sell the chassis without the motors and wheels?

    Whit,
It will be offered as chassis only, for those of you that already have or plan on purchasing the wheel/motor combo's. I have to see if Ken will offer a extra set of wheels for the rear to make it look really cool! Price TBA after I get done with prototype.

    Jimmy,
I have one more 18 hour days week left, I've been working on trucks yet untill July 1rst and than going home and working on machining stuff. It's getting real hard to look at trucks but I can see the light of day, one more week.
Not much getting done on new stuff right now ,just trying to keep the 911 stuff going right now. Keep in mind that molds for plastic are very time consuming .

    Brian,

I have an extra set of wheels/tubes and tires. I also have two motors. I bought them from someone who just wanted the mounting blocks, axles, bearings and encoder parts. So I am missing those parts (toward having two complete sets).

Where you thinking 4 wheel drive or two drive wheels and to free spining wheels?

    Whit,
Making it with 2 drive motors , 4 takes up to much space and is not really needed. Been very busy getting shop up and running so have not had time to mess with any robot project's (still no time to work on robots! ).

Prototype just about done, I'll make mounts for 2 HB25's and a Prop . You can be the test guy, I'll make a set of bearings to make another set of parallax wheels fit on the back. Pm me your address and I'll ship it to you as soon as I'm done.

Nice work Brian on the mini Dragon Wagon. Will the pivot in the center be multi-axis pivot or only in one plane?

Multi-axis , the pivot in the picture was just to hold the 2 sections together.

    Brian,

Whatever happened to your Propeller Protoboard enclosure? Maybe I'm day-dreaming, but I swear I saw a box that did not look like an AppleII case. I'm interested in an enclosure where I could mount a proto-board sandwich with some customizable matte plastic faceplates on the 4" card edge using some 100mil header/sockets and about 750mil standoffs (guidelines). PM me if you like. Sorry if details are a little sketchy.

    Hi,

·This is somthing I came up with after trying to figure out how to build the "mini apple II box" . I call it Build-A-Box , a modular project box system . Maybe start out with 3 bases and some spacers with differnt holes in them·.·A selection of covers fits key pads , Lcd's, ect.. .·Just thinking out loud.

·Also, I think the spacers would be jig sawed so that you could use the same parts from one size box to the other . They would screw down to the base or the spacer under them.To start with base sizes would be 6"x6" , 6"x12" and 12"x12".
