Dgswaner (and a number of others) have it right. It's not broke, so why fix it?
First, I'm a newbie, and I make mistakes... every one did, at some point... I make the occasional typing mistakes, and don't always get them corrected. I also have been known to get my facts jumbled. In 67 years old; I've collected a LOT of facts, but my internal database isn't all that well organized.
All of that said, I enjoy seeing how others think; especially those newbies who aren't afraid to try something that is "out of the box". I like to add my two cents from time to time for the same reason, because it encourages thinking.
If an old-timer doesn't wish to dispense advice (useful or otherwise) he or she doesn't have to; there is NO gun to his head. He or she doesn't even have to read a post! If there isn't enough material in the subject line to grab your attention, then move on! If you want to help, but enough info wasn't supplied, then ask for it! Some of us have never even heard of flow-charts! Y'all might want to bear in mind that there are a LOT of hobbyists on this board; There are also a LOT of professionals, and the skill sets vary wildly.
In the long run, the newbies will either learn and grow, with or without the help of old-timers, or they will move on to something more in line with their natures. The old-timers can move as well, if they wish, but they would lose the exposure to those fresh viewpoints that newbies provide. Something to consider, one good measure of how well you know a subject is your ability to explain it...
There are a large number of VERY helpful people on these forums; there are also a very few elitist egotists. I'm sure that mere mortals, such as me, can put up with them. If the obverse isn't true there are groups all of over the Web, or they can form their own.

As usual, just my own opinion,
