Hello to all the new propeller people.

Firstly I would like to say that you have made the right choice by going with the Propeller Chip, it is a wonderful device.
If you are new and are only just beginning with the propeller I would recommend checking out my site.

Over the next few weeks I will be updating the site with heaps more guides to get you started.
If you can't find a guide that you need than there are several other places to look for the answer.
Some places are:

The forums - where you are now.

propeller.warrantyvoid.us/ - which has been created by Jeff Ledger (Oldbitcollector) and will also be updated regularly.

propeller.wikispaces.com/

Good luck and happy proping. smile.gif

@computer guy... I am not so happy with the three diagrams I see there. I myself would have annotated them in a very different way... At least please change the explanation for the switch pull-down

    ok everyone,
I think I have fixed all the errors.
I am getting the information for my guides from various places.
In fact I got the debounce comment from another guide, of which I will not name. smile.gif

Thank you for your feedback and I hope that all has been fixed. smile.gif

    desilva,

How would you change the annotation.

I am not sure what you are referring to.
I would rather it was stickied.
That way it can be found easily by the intended audience.

I've taken another tactic to get my project sticky: I'm not outright asking, I'll just keep improving it until it becomes so completely awesome that Parallax will have no choice but to make it sticky. Asking directly seems a bit brusque smile.gif

Those breadboard layouts that you made up won't work. You have component leads that are supposed to be connected plugged into different rows on the breadboard.

Nice concept and the graphic quality is very nice and professional, but if a beginner plugged things in as shown, it would not work.

dfletch, does getting a stickie thread qualify for having published a scientific paper? ... I once played as an extra (smoking WW1-soldier) in a documentary movie, so this could mean it's time to start calculating... LOL

I would really like this thread to be made sticky as I am still a beginner myself and I know how difficult it can be to find the schematic you are after.
If would rather request that it be made sticky and get a no than wait for them to decide to do it in 6months time when the reply count gets high enough that they assume that it must be good. smile.gif

Don't worry about it, a bit of comedy can lighten up a serious thread. smile.gif

    There, those circuits will work

btw...what software do you use to make those? The quality is great and the speed in which your rearranged your pictures leads me to believe it must be easy to use.

    Brian,

I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Each part is on its own layer so I can just move it around as I please.
I have lots more parts to design graphics for yet as the initial design of each part takes a while.
LED was about 5min and resistor about 10min, However this is a long time to me. smile.gif

Am thinking of revising the breadboard design a bit, so that it is more like a real one (in terms of layout).

    Thank you smile.gif

The reason I would like it to be stickied is so that new people can find it easily.
I am planning on updating the site and so are the other people who's websites are in the top post.
I believe that this thread will become a valuable resource.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing small interface boards?

Like keyboard, VGA, TV, mouse, audio, etc.

With a pin header on one end for easy breadboard mounting.
    They would be fairly cheap.

Expressions of interest would be nice. smile.gif

If people are interested, I will sell them on my site.

Also if you would like to request that a board be made I will be more than happy to consider it.

    Thank you smile.gif

You mean something like this? I describe this from time to time.. You best do it yourself (< $1) as there are many variations wrt single/double or straight/rectangular headers.. For stability take double...

I use 12/06 SMD resistors nowadays which fit fine between the gaps of veroboards and are quite forgiving.
Note that the mouse interface uses 3.3 Volt (orange line 2) , which works fine for most mechanical mice... Generally 5V is required, especially for keyboards

    deSilva,

I think you misread my post.
I am offering to make and sell PCB boards with these functions for use on a solderless breadboard.

For example the audio board might look something like this.

    Clemens,

    Yes I do.
I am offering these as a simple PCB.
For those people that don't want extra room taken up.
The U-Controller boards have 2 rows of pins and are designed to connect to the spin studio main board.

The boards I make will be designed for breadboards .

Also like I said I will make any board requested that I consider doable.
Like a board with 4 optocouplers on it for example.

    Thank you smile.gif

These are two example audio boards.

    Mono
    attachment.php?attachmentid=52453

    Stereo
    attachment.php?attachmentid=52454

The boards will come fully populated.

Like I stated earlier expressions of interest would be great.
And any board that is simple in design can be made.
e.g Audio, Video, VGA, Opto, LED, Button.

    Thank you smile.gif

    @Graham
A beginners thread. However since the thread is mainly about my site I figured rather than starting a new thread I would just continue this one.
These will be sold on my site and are primarily aimed at beginners wanting to experiment with sound and such but don't want to take up space on their breadboard.

If you look at my site I have a link pointing to here for any discussions about the site.

    @Steven
    Not sure as of yet.
    I would say under $10.

    Thank you smile.gif

edit: Graham, I have changed the title of this thread to suit the content a 'little' better. I hope smile.gif
Steven, The type of board would make a difference. e.g audio might be cheaper than VGA.
