    Tony,
Right now we are finishing up parts selection, and cementing in the schematic. We are looking to begin layout on this Thursday.

Are you going to add pads for a 2-pin header for a remote reset? Every board you made should have two holes .100" apart with one lead to ground and the other to the reset line. That way people can easily connect a push button to locate the reset button anywhere. It is SO simple to add and doesn't even add to the parts count. I've got a ton of 2-pin headers around here and can add my own when I need them. Please consider it!!! I wish that was a feature added to all your boards. It not only makes it easier to have a remotely located reset button if we want to but also makes it easier for projects that use multiple boards so that one can have a master reset for all the boards. I've brought this up before and I'll keep reminding you that this is worth adding.

David - Thanks for the update.

RobotWorkshop - Great Idea! It would be great to have this simple solution.

Wow; I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered a SpinStamp; but then again, I'd probaby have picked one up anyway. :D

For those who have been at this longer than I have, is it worth setting up the BS BOE with the SpinStamp for the BOE-Bot, or would it make sense to wait for the new board?

Samuron, It depends ... There's always something new becoming available. If it isn't a new microprocessor, it's a new memory chip or memory board or construction technique or whatever. The SpinStamp works. It works on a BOE. On the other hand, the new board will come out "really soon" and it'll have great features and be "really neat". If you have a project that you'd like to work on and the SpinStamp and BOE will do the job, why not start on that? If it doesn't look like the SpinStamp or BOE will do the job or if you don't have a project, then you can wait or you can use the SpinStamp to start learning about the Propeller. It's a pretty cheap introduction tool although it does need a PropClip or equivalent to use.

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply.

I have a Boe-Bot, and I decided that was a good platform to start figuring out the Propeller; so, I got the Spin chip and the Propclip for an extra BOE that I could dedicate to it.

I have realized, however, that I have enough to learn in the meantime to make it worth waiting; if I get to the point where I can make sense of it before the new board is ready, I can always use the older one.

    Thanks!
    James

This seems to be the thread that talks about features, so I'll post here. There is a more recent thread here but it's more of an announcement thread...

Anyway, my question is why the breadboard area doesn't have a through hole prototyping area underneath? My use case is to remove the white solderless breadboard and have something like this underneath to which I can solder things. I think that this would greatly expand the range in which these products can be used, namely they could be used in permanent installations.

Such a modification does not add cost, correct? IIRC a PCB fab house doesn't charge for hole count, although that may just be for prototype fabs.
