new forum limits?

Hi everyone - I know Mr. Ewald has much to do right now, but maybe somebody else can answer this. When the new forum gets finished will we be able to post attachments and images at least as large as we could in the old forum?

An image attachment size limit of 800 x 800 has been recommended, seems good to me.

It is NOT so simple -->
I mostly use Images captured from screen and after resizing them are not readable in most cases.
How much bigger do you need?

Hi W9GFO
I have NOT problems with resizing pictures when them are posted as IN LINE
BUT in attachments it is not good idea AS many times it is needed to send entire Print Screen image - On my computer it is -> 1920x1080 but I know some one have bigger resolutions.
However, a zip attachment can be up to 4.77 MB.
Attached is a 1680 x 1050 screen capture.
Here it is inline using DropBox;

Humanoido,
I use a piece of freeware called Paint.net. It will let you do all sorts of things to your images including crop and resize to a specific size. Hope this helps!
Hi W9GFO
BUT start open Yours Attachment ---> IT is resized and very ugly
THAT IS PROBLEM
I downloaded it, and opened it. It does look bad at first because it displays at less than 100% to enable the whole image to fit within the window. Make it full size and it is fine.
Are you sure that you are viewing it at 100%?
Rich H
Yes If You download .zip
BUT use Thumbnails to open it
I removed the thumbnail for my post that has the huge image in it. That was the result of uploading as an attachment and it was severely compressed as a result. I did not intend to leave it there.
DropBox is a very easy solution. Just save your image into the dropbox public folder, right click and copy the public link.
You could use it as a link to the image like this or display it inline.

Hi W9GFO
Sorry if I say it on that way.
If I need download software that are not Part of ATTACHMENT system on forum THAT is already VERY BAD.
We have attachment box in EDIT window and if it work correctly --- NO needs for that EXTRA software.
Is not Computer that shall control ME, It is I that will control it in way I know is possible.
It's all out of control then. One day DropBox will drop of the net or get moved and bam there goes the integrity/consistency of the threads here.

OTOH, I can see absolutely zero justification for displaying an entire 1920 x 1440 screen capture inline. That's an absurd waste of pixels and a huge annoyance to try to view. If you want to display a screen dump, either resize the window before capturing it, or crop it afterwards. The portion of a window required to make one's point in the forum virtually never takes up an entire large screen.
