  I made these from conductive foam, the kind that holds ICs and
  prevents their static electricity zapping. It was easy to use two
  small circular copper plates. Solder a wire to each plate and lead
  it to a Basic Stamp rc circuit. To ensure repeat reliability, choose
  the conductive foam that rebounds the quickest. There are several
  varieties in use. Wrap the exterior with thin material such as cloth
  which is an insulator. If the parts are held in a small tube, like a
  pen body, a thick formed wire can act like the supporting active
  linkage and push on the foam.

  I haven't built one but I would think that you would be able to use some plastic food wrap aka cling wrap.
