EEPROM Compatibility

I found the Microchip 24LC1025 EEPROM, which has 1024KB of memory, and is pin compatible with the 24LC256. Judging by the part number, it is also protocol compatible. However, I just want to be sure, and would appreciate it if somebody here could confirm that this chip could be used as a drop-in replacement for the 32KB EEPROM attached to pins 28/29. Granted, only the first 32KB·of space could be used for the program, but the rest of the EEPROM could be used for storing other things. Right?

Yes, the Microchip 24LC1025 can be used as a drop-in replacement for the 32KB EEPROM used for booting a Propeller. Yes, the rest of the EEPROM can be used for storing other things. Do be careful as the Microchip part has two discontinuous 64KB address spaces. It's not a bit deal, but it is important when you write your own programs to access the rest of the EEPROM (above 32KB).
