you have a couple options.....crack open the case and solder direct to the wires....
Or carefully tack a couple wires to the pads themselves (I've done this to no bad effects).

It's just a metal contact...however, it is surrounded by plastic...leave the heat too long and your contact might get the plastic all gooey and fall out.
Just tack it on.
AS far as removing it afterwards....mine came off pretty easily...just touched my iron to it and it blobbed off!
