reccomended wireless cameras?

I am looking for a wireless camera for my latest robot project. At this point, I do not care if it broadcasts via wi-fi or RF or whatever else there may be, but I want several things: I would like a good long range (range>200ft), size doesn't really matter for the robot is a good size, and I want it to be concious of power usage, mabe so I could get a few hours out of it. I would just like some reccomendations from people who have bought and used some of these. There are hundreds of wireless camera ads all over, but a non-biased opinion of resolution, color (not needed, but if it does have color, how is it), and durability, as well as the featured I mentioned up top.

Thanks, Justin

Slow Scan TV (SSTV) is an old HAM radio method of sending images. I believe they used this on MIR for a time (obviously not no more).
Google some rocketry sites....there are guys that put camera's on their rockets...some are still cameras some are motion.

Is your range "line of site"? If it's not, you might want to invest in a Wi-Fi one....although, maybe not as 'smooth' as other wireless video systems, I like the usability of being able to connect it to a network.

    Justin,

·· I am currently looking into a couple of cameras from http://www.matco.com/·just because they will run on 4.5-12VDC, and I will need them to be able to run from a 7.2VDC battery.· Most cameras require 12V.· Maybe they have something you can use?· There are 3 cameras that have a wide power supply range.

yeah, I'm familiar with the SSTV system, but as I remember it was SLLLLLLOOOOOOWWW and I need live video images, not stills. I did consider wifi, but I'm not sure about the range on these (wifi sucks with longer distances). I am using an airplane radio for this (I have a ground crystal in there, so you don't need to call the FCC on me!) so I have plenty of avaliable range, and I'd like to get some good range on the camera as well.

[edit] Thanks chris, Ill take a look at those right now! they look like they could be a bit pricey, but I havent looked at everything yet [/edit]

    WHELZORN,

    http://www.robotstore.com/catalog/display.asp?pid=343

CHECK THIS CAMERA OUT. RUNS ON A 9 V BATTERY AND THEY CLAIM 200 METERS. THNNK THAT WOULD BE 600-700 FEET. CHAN 16 OR 19 UHF.

I AM WORKING TOWARD A ZAGGROS 16" DIA ROBOTIC BASE FOR FRONT WHEEL DRIVE (WITH WRIST ACTION HINGE TO A SECOND UNPOWERED SECTION ON THE REAR) AND A FUTABA 7 CHANNEL R/C 75 MHZ CONTROLLER.

very interesting! does anyone have any experience with one of those cameras? The only thing I see is that it's VERY small. I don't need it anywhere close to that small, and that would probably be hard to mount on a robot the size of mine.

    Try http://www.boostervision.com/gg/

They normally use these in rockets.
