Wrong supply voltage on my stamp
Me and my fellow students were experimenting with our bs2p24 stamp
hooked up to our learning board and we accidentally put 9 VAC
instead of 9 VDC into the power supply. It worked for a little
while and now we can't seem to get the program to recognize the
stamp. It keeps on telling us that the stamp is not there.
Has anyone ever done this too? Can we salvage the board/chip, or is
it fried?
Thanks,
Sam

volts there, if not you fried the on board regulator. also by putting the
AC line on the stamp your telling the stamp to operate at 60 Hz and you
might have fried the clock.

get a VOM (volt ohm meter) and check the voltage at VDD. you should get 5
volts there, if not you fried the on board regulator. also by putting the

In the past Parallax has been pretty good about accepting your fried Stamp
and selling you another one (rebuilt?) at less than the cost of a new one. You
may want to contact Parallax customer service.

should. I am beginning to accept the inevitable answer to my
question. The stamp gets pretty hot when we turn it on and I don't
think that's right. Thanks for the info.
