BS II - line out to a PA system

Has anyone connected a pinout of a basic stamp II to the line in socket on a
PA system, in order to generate simple beeps over the PA system?
Does anything specific need to be done to the pin out in terms of resistors,
caps, etc. in order to feed into the PA? Is there a dange the PA would
somehow damage the stamp?

    ARC -

This is mostly a safety warning, both personal, and for the Stamp.
You need to check the voltage of the PA system voltage. Some have a voltage
potential of 70.7 volts. These are generally found in commercial application,
schools, large auditoriums, etc (I beleive). Check that first, before going
any further (alternate thot below). There are usually fairly simple solutions
to the interface, but knowing what you have at each end will be key.

There are lots of audio gurus here, once you can supply the information they
require. The make, model and other pertinant info from the label on the
    amplifier
    will certainly be a help.

    Regards,

    Bruce

I'm anything but an electronics guy - I volunteered to help out with my
daughter's archery and they needed a fancy timer - not my brightest moment, but
I'm hoping to get the damn thing done tonite in time for a tournament

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird,
people take prozac to make it normal.

acknowledged and thanks - due to time shortage I will probably just have a
microphone laid close to the small speaker, and hope there is no feedback.....
