New Sensor Box Question

Hello!
I've got a question, and then a bit of a problem for the one I bought several months earlier. The page for it says "This product is being retired; quantity limited to stock on hand." So what prompted its retirement? And now the problem. I thought I kept everything needed to physically install something, say an Enterprise board for the BASIC Stamp family inside mine, together with the box which I've got assembled but not secured. Not so. It seems that my two cats found it and did a number with the fixture pieces, the mounting hardware that is. What's next then?
