    I'm surprised it works with fixed knee joints. They are fixed right? I'd like to see a slow motion video from the side to see how this works...

    Yes, no knee joints. There are a million cheap toys that walk like that, hardly a precision walking mechanism. My business partner did a great 4-legged articulated walker for Mattel back in the day. And my OTHER business partner created Spydor, an amazingly efficient (long battery life) 6-legged walker. No knee articulation, tripod gait.
