Questions on Music Synth Object with General MIDI and pasm to C

Hello there,
Recently I found this interesting little PM synth: http://forums.parallax.com/discussion/111867/music-synthesizer-object-with-general-midi-sound-set and noticed that there aren't any more updates on it. Is the author still maintaining the code?
It looks like the assembler part can be re-written into C if we are to run the same code in the Propeller 2 (or on the other 32-bit platform).
Also, are there any programs that can convert the PASM to C? If not, I had to manually convert it, and try to get as close as possible to the Ariba's one.

Also, I don't think the PM Synth sounds very nice, but I think that is mostly because the default instrument patches are bad, the synth itself can likely do much better.
