  Pins P12-P17 on the servo headers have 3.9K resistors in line.

  Note: if you use P12-17 on the left side of the breadboard, they DO NOT have the series resistor.

  10) Analog to Digital Converter
  Use the Analog to Digital Converter to monitor the voltage at analog inputs labeled A/D 0, 1, 2, and 3. It
  will give a number from 0 to 4095, which tells what the voltage is in a range from 0 to 5 volts. The
  converter used here is a 12-bit, 200 ksps SPI ADC, with a 5 V reference.

  That was not my take on the question, but the ADC reference is a good one.

  I see...I understand that the servo headers have the resistors but the breadboard pins no (I was not sure if the previous thread did also apply to the activity board or was simply generic about the chip only).
