    I'm pretty sure the title says it all. That plus all the hoopla over the Elev8-V2.

    It just stuck me that labelling any autonomous flying "drone" thing a V2 is kind of disturbing to us Londoners!

    I suspect that is true but I thought it odd that all the discussion was about Elev-8 V2 but when the announcement came it was for a "Next Generation Quadcopter". It made me wonder if this was the announcement of that Super Elev-8 that they talked about a few months ago.

    If it was the Super, I probably would have made some pun such as "super special announcement" rather then "very special announcement"

    That's probably just as well since I suspect the Super will be way out of my price range! (although it looks wonderful)

    Ok I see it!

    Couple of initial comments.... The pre-wired power harness is huge plus for us noobs. That was the single most difficult task on the Elev-8. Uhhh.... altitude hold isn't available w/ Hoverfly's software (or at least wasn't a few weeks ago) - strictly a roll-your-own, as far as I can tell.

    Pre-programmed ESC's is a nice touch, though not too difficult (other than deciding 'what' settings to make).

    Radio/receiver setup and configuration seems to be a common issue. If you have a Spectrum, there seems to be good support, otherwise it can be a little challenging.

    Price looks good. :smile:

    Are you sure about that? We know it says that it supports it. Have you tried it? I have yet to see or hear of any successes.

    I first want to apologize for the confusion. As far as HoverflyOPEN specifications, I've only ever copied the materials provided to us by Hoverfly (until now, I had no reason to doubt their accuracy). I must say that I personally have never attempted to use the altitude hold function, nor have I heard anything about attempts to use it (success or failures) This is largely due to me only having been with parallax for two months now, and a bit of ignorance I suppose, but I hope you can see where I am coming from. So the forum posts and this e-mail are the first I have ever heard of the issue. However, I've since done some research and browsing of the forums (threads "ELEV-8 Altitude Hold = Not possible," and "Altitude Hold"), and must admit that I've not found any successful attempts to use said functionality. Therefore, pending my boss's approval, we'll remove the altitude-hold specification from the product page, and hopefully be in touch with Hoverfly about the issue. Thank you for alerting me to this issue.

    As a clarification, regular forum users cannot post in Announcements.

    Posting comments or questions about the new ELEV-8 V2 in this thread or in the new Multirotor Discussion forum is totally acceptable.
