Just curious, how big is the actual piece of wafer inside a Propeller DIP?

For some reason, this occurred to me today. Would a cut-down 24pin DIP be possible?

You could certainly cut it down, but need the I2C boot pins. Also you can get 0.6" to 0.3" width converters, so something like a DIP-24s with 16 GPIO could me made (losing P8-23)
and the result...
It's fortuitous that the VSS and VDD pins line up where they do!

If space is the concern you can go smaller using the other packages and still have full pinout.
