Prop Board to Spin Studio

Is it Possible to link the Propeller Proto Board to the Spin Studio Board via the Prop Plug Connection's by reversing one side via a hacked sound cable from a cd rom drive.
Or has this already been tried and discussed.

Actually, I think Brian was the one who came up with that.. I don't see any reason why you couldn't hook two Propeller board together by the prop-plug pins, if you switch the TX/RX lines on one end so that they are crossed. Since a typical CDROM audio cable has three wires, I would use TX,RX,and GND

Use your prop-plug as a reference for the pins.

TX ---- RX
RX ---- TX
GN ---- GN

(Skip the RES line)


You should be able to communicate with the FullDuplexSerial code using that configuration. Since I doubt you've started
to dabble much with Spin, load up PropDOS on both units, use the "terminal" command and you should be able
to type between the two boards. (Half-duplex should allow you see see what you are typing)

I'll play with this configuration later, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work.
