Homework Board Power Supply?

I was looking at the Parallax site and trying see if there was a power supply for the Homework Board but couldn't find anything other than a 9volt battery listed. I saw that the BOE took a 9volt 300ma power supply and was wondering if anyone knew if the homework board was capable of using the same power supply. I have a 7volt 900ma supply that actually puts out 10.5v that I was thinking of using but I don't want to kill my Homework Board so I thought I was ask here first.

The 7V supply should be fine. It's common for a lightly loaded unregulated "wall-wart" supply to have a much higher voltage than when more heavily loaded. The Homework Board and the BOE have similar voltage needs ... they are designed to be used from about 6V to about 9V. If there's a light load on the regulator, they can run off a 12V supply ... the main limitation is the amount of heat that has to be dissipated and that's a function of the power supply voltage and the current drawn through the regulator.

I normally use a 7.5V 1A supply for my BOE that was designed for another piece of equipment. Works great.

Any reasonably stable supply providing at least 6V at the current you need for your circuits should be fine.

Thanks, I thought it would be alright to use but just wanted to double check.
