solenoid control

Hello,

I am working on a project where I want to control a 12 VDC solenoid with a bs2 and a board of education.··What is the best way to do this, since the boe works on 6 - 9 volts?· Is there a relay or chip·that exists and if there is how do I control it with the stamp?· I am very comfortable with the bs2 and all of the sensors that are taught in WAM and robotics with the boe bot.· I have been through these texts several times.

It's called a mosfet and has been discussed here before. Just use search.parallax.com for mosfet. Should do the trick.
