Hydra and the VocalTract

Hi All,
I read about Chip Gracey's VocalTract code in Make magazine #10, and bought a Hydra kit recently. I've been learning about it over the last few days, and installed the software to try out a lot of the sample code. If I understand the Hydra, it uses IO Pin 7 on the Propeller for generating sound, right? Can I modify the VocalTract test programs (I've also found the intriguing code by Phil Pilgrim for speech synthesis using VocalTract) so that the sound can be heard through the Hydra audio port?
I've tried HSS to generate sounds and that went well. But the VocalTract demo programs don't generate any sound, even if I play with changing pin 10 to pin 7 in the code.
Would I have to make a stereo output circuit, or will the Mono output work? Thanks for any insight you can give me on this.
Cheers.
