Used robotics are rarely sold. Robotics Hobby-ists typically hoard their dead project to harvest or for souvenirs. That said, low-cost parts for robotics can sometimes be found on eBay or CraigsList (but the magic smoke might have already been released). Also, Jameco and DigiKey can be inexpensive for simple electronics. American Science and Surplus is good for motors and the like on a hit-or-miss basis -- so get to know the people at American Science and Surplus and ask your favorite worker there to give you a call if they see an XYZ that your looking for.
