Alternative sound processor IC?

I got my max4411's today, didn't even think to look at the package type.......well so much for that.
Is there an alternative for this device that is a gullwing SO or a DIP? There is no way to hand solder this thing effectively.

Any ideas?

The max4411 is the sound chip, doesn't ftdi only do USB? I didn't see anything on their site for sound. Is this just a normal linear opamp?
would an LM386 or 741 do the same job? I haven't read the 4411 datasheet, so just looking for an easy alternative
I don't think the choice is critical as to which one to choose; while I'm sure there are better amps out there, a 386 should work but perhaps find a 3.3V variant.

It's a very cheap IC and works perfect.
Available as DIP-8 or SO-8.

I can build a TDA as a seperate module to connect to the prop preamp.
I figured by building to the demo sheet that would be the best way to go, but prototyping it has become a real labor. Once I get my parts tomorrow I can finalize my schematic and start to build my prototype.......can't wait!

No I got that one down cold......My 8051 has 2 amp of 5 voltage for add on modules, so it will recieve its power via the ribbon cable header to from the external onboard regs from the 8051 and then brought down to 3.3V to power the prop and eeprom parallax circuits.....
I've just posted my latest and greatest......hopefully it will be set up properly.....I think I covered all the bases.
For the "stereo" version yes, the o/p of the amps will be at 1/2 VDD. For the bridged mono cct they are both up at 1/2 VDD so all is well to connect the LS directly.
The LM386 isn't an op amp, it's a (poor quality) audio amplifier. I'd use a TDA7052, fewer components and much better quality.
It's been replaced by the TDA7052A, BTW.
