Cog Stack Size

I read with interest musings about release v2 of the propeller IDE and the associated Debug facility ... Also I have been looking at the recent third party debug options ..

In v2 Would it be feasible to include a stack monitor facility option for debug .. I have been using Phils routine todate to calculate stack size .. but it would be nice to have a dedicated stack-mon debug facility ..

Your thoughts ...

It will likely not be an inherent ability, but the system will be extensible so the feature could be added in the future.

The current plan is for it to be internally extensible, no plans at present for providing the necessary documentation for 3rd party plug-ins.

Paul thats great ... thanks for the reply. I think it would be an invaluable feature .. at least its not an 'off the wall' suggestion.

Oh, Paul, come on! You're so paranoid! smile.gif

Seriously, the fact that extensibility is there at all is a Good Thing and will make fast-track response to user input a least a possibility. (Of course, that "input" may — eventually — include a polite request for documentation!)

    Cheers!

No, just a bit gun shy from all the times I answered a question about future intent and had my head bitten off in response, so I'm a bit hesitant to discuss anything related to the future path of the Propeller and it's IDE.
