PING))) Ultrasonic Sensor

·I would like to build a remote camera tripping device for underwater. I want to take pictures of fish etc in fresh water streams. I was wondering if the PING))) Ultrasonic Sensor could be used underwater ? I would interface this to a basic stamp to pick the range I want the object in when it trips the camera. So, is the front of the sensor waterproof ? If not, what if I put the sensor in pure , non conductive, distilled water all in a small container and have the metal container underwater ? Any ideas out there ??

I don't believe the sensor is at all waterproof. That would shift the resonant frequency of the diaphragm anyway.
