Does your Gripper stay closed if you do not have an object between the paddles?· It maybe that your code needs to be modified or that your servo horn needs to be adjusted.

Servos need to be refreshed with pulses. You can not just send pulses to the gripper servo and have it stay closed. The new Parallax ServoPal works great doing this refreshing. Send one set of pulses and the ServoPal will continue to send pulses to the servo while your main program does other things. I have tried the ServoPal in different applications using servos. The ServoPal does a great job with both standard servos and with continuous rotation servos.

The gripper uses a spring in conjuction with a 4 bar linkage to make it close·and lift. The spring is what that is really providing the gripping presure. Therefore sometimes you can lift a object but it slip down out of the gripper. To lift a Coke can I put small lips on the bottoms of side grippers. This lip fits under the Coke can, cutting down on slipage.

    Hi,

How did you make those gripper pads?
I can see you screwed them onto the Parallax
gripper kit, but I don't recognize where those
    pads could have come from.

I would also be interested in seeing more pictures of
your Boe-Bot. It looks like you've added some more stuff,
but it's hard to tell from the pictures of your gripper.

I'm always curious to see how other people have
    modified their Boe-Bot.

    Thanks!
