Hacking the Parallax Keyboard

I love Oldbitcollector's c-64 hack... but I want something a little more stylish. (I keep thinking... "THE Propeller... it's not your daddy's C-64")

In terms of hacks...

I stepped on my Parallax keyboard... 1/2 full body weight with my shoes on. It was next to my overflowing desk, sitting on 1/8" carpet... and nothing happened. Don't try this at home... I'm an expert.

Anyone have any idea what would happen if I poured a Fresca on it?

I've noticed that there is just enough room at the top of the keyboard to hold a series 4D-96s.

I hate cables... they are dangerous[noparse]:)[/noparse] So, I was thinking "open up the keyboard, get rid of the cable and connect up a couple of 4D-96s."

So, I flipped the case over and there are... 30 screws. 30!!!

Is it ok to remove them?

Can I look inside without destroying it?

I don't know about Fresca, but the Propeller might become self-aware and fall in love

My girlfriend no longer speaks to me. On the other hand, my ex-wife loves the Propeller because it makes me so much easier to be around.

remove only the peripheral screws, I suspect he others hold the membrane etc together
