Brainboard programming options for Macs or Linux

Hi
I have a Scoutwalker III and both the PIC and Atmel Sumovore Brainboard add-ons. I have a Mac notebook and a Linux machine, but no Windoze machine nor a parallel port.
I have a PIC programmer that I can use with my Mac via a USB->Serial adapter but I would actually prefer to get familiar with the Atmel and start using that. Does anyone know of any options for programming the Atmel with my available machines? I have an AVR ISP cable it's an ATAVRISP2-ND that I picked up once for another project, could that be used? Or if not can anyone recommend another option?
Thanks much
