Hello,
I'm Tiago Rodrigues and i have a Parallax USB to Serial (RS-232)
Adapter and they recomend this FTDI drivers.
(http://www.parallax.com/Store/Accessories/CablesConverters/tabid/166/CategoryID/40/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/378/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName)

The problem is that i have windows vista on my notebook (and it is not
windows xp compatible) and i can't totally access to the COM port.

In the Basic Stamp Dev program i can access the COM1 port and program
the BS2, but when i use Java Eclipse i can't the port dues not appear
in the port list.
The problem its not in the source code because i tested it with the
same usb2rs232 adapter in a friend PC with windows xp, and all work
great..

i maybe have some drivers incompatibility problem with vista, or bad
configuration, but i really have made all equal in the win xp and work
good there.

There are more people with this problem? Can you help me out?

Thanks for the time,
--

Make sure you have the most recent FTDI drivers installed. They manufacture the chip used in the Parallax USB to serial adapters.
    Look here: www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.
