Prop Plug for something else?

I'm thinking about using a Prop Plug to transmit wireless data from a PC using a Sparkfun wireless serial module...·

I know this isn't strictly a Propeller issue, but has anybody used the Prop Plug for something else?

I'd really like to pull +5VDC from the USB but it appears that Parallax has epoxied their logo over the USB pins...
Maybe I can get power from RES\ ?

    You might try the USB to serial adapter sold by 4D Systems for use with their uOLED-96-Prop and other displays. It makes the +5V available on one of the pins. You might be able to get a little bit of power from RES\. You'll have to look at the schematic to see how much, but I doubt it's more than a couple of mAs.
