A New Propeller chip in the works???

I just received a few Propeller boards and accessories, and am reading (and re-re-re-reading)·the propeller manual. It has a few references to a port B, pins 32-63, indicating they are "reserved for future use".

Is a new Propeller chip comming in the near future?
I'm just a little curious. Page 212 of the propeller manual is one of the references that refers to port B.

Thanks
B

There is a long, very involved thread about a version 2 Propeller being designed currently with a projected time to availability on the order of 1-2 years.
While the current instruction set design has provisions for a port B, there is nothing in the current version 1 chip to support it. It simply doesn't exist.

The original thread is here: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=617536.

As I understood some remarks from authorities here in this forum, there will hardly be a Propeller I with the needed 64+ pins.

But the internal registers for port B are available (INB, OUTB) and can be used.
