My new lap top with VISA and only USB connectors.· Can I use the appropriate Parallax adaptors that I have to the Stache Basic Stamp Field Programmer and this computer with only USB? Thanks.

    Yes. Do use the approved FTDI USB->adapter and the most current drivers.

    Silly me up all night with 0's an 1's and asked question.

    I own several Board of Education Development Board (USB), Could the Stache adapt to them.····
    Have not tried this yet.· I wanted to confirm with someone with bigger brains than myself

    To Stache:
    1. Vista Computer USB
    2. Parallax USB A to mini B cable (#805-00006)
    3. Parallax USB to Serial (RS-232) Adapter (#28030)
    4. Parallax Serial Cable (#800-00003)
    5. Gender Changer (Came with Stache)
    6. Stache BASIC Stamp Field Programmer (#27330)

    Everything seems to look good, up to here.

    Oh, do you want to use the Stache to program the BOE-USB? Sorry. That won't work. The Stache can't drive the Parallax USB to Serial adapter in "reverse" as in your step 4.

    The USB to Serial adapter requires that the device on the USB side be a Master PC with the appropriate drivers installed.

    The Stache programs the standard serial BOEs and other Stamp based products with the RS232 serial interface.

    I thought to be safe than sorry, so there I go thinking again.· Guess I need some serial BOE on the next order.
