Where to buy a Boe Bot in the UK?

Hi, I have decided to delve into the world of robotics and have selected two products which I want to buy first:
1. BASIC Stamp Discovery Kit Serial and USB compatible
2. Boe-Bot Kit for Microsoft Robotics Studio

However, when I went to the checkout page to purchase these products on the parallax website the delievery costs were a staggering £100 (really was $198)! I am quite reluctant to spend that much on delievery as I believe that they're ripping me off for no reason!

I have checked out the only UK distributor on the parallax website but they don't seem to have the product. I also have looked on amazon.co.uk, amazon.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.com and still can't find it; as you can see I am rapidly running out of options here. This is why I am asking you guys if you know any place which would/could have these products.

I am getting desperate here, please, help me out!

Parallax is a very "customer-centric" company... I'm very surprised that their UK distributor does not have these items... Did you ask if they would be getting them in soon, or if they could order it from Parallax so they could sell it to you? I would also send Parallax Customer Service a note about your delema... they will be best to advise you.

Hi, I have sent the UK distributor an e-mail but I have not received a reply from them yet. My guess is that it may cost the same price in total, since it costs £119 just for a Boe-Bot itself, while it costs just under £100 for the Microsoft Robotics Studio Boe-Bot kit from parallax.

However, I have not sent an email to parallax, which I will do now. Thanks for your help so far and keep the posts coming in smile.gif.

What's going on in this case [I think] is that our on-line ordering system is quoting a UPS rate to you. But we also offer USPS shipping, which is a portion of the UPS costs.

I'll alert our Sales Manager to this link so he can get back to you before the week gets started.

Oh, so they do do cheaper delivery charges. I don't mind waiting up to 4 weeks, as long as the delievery price is much cheaper and more price worthy.

Thanks for your support so far,

    R/C Bot.

Note: I have requested a quotation on the "Carrier Unavailable" delivery option yesterday, but I have not received a quotation back, and so I am assuming the worst case scenario at the moment (which is for it to cost £100).

Have you also tried eBay (UK)? Someone may be selling something of this nature near you. It might be worth a check.
