I have three sound files on my computer none of them are longer than 10 seconds. Is there an easy way to record these sounds to an external chip and play them as needed.
Ex. when I start up my device I want it to play a cool electronic sound which is connected to a speaker with a nice amplifier.
Then when it shuts down I want it to be able to shutdown. While it is on I want it to play a loop of a sound.

If you want more details you can take a look at Nuts & Volts article #65 & #66 by Jon Williams.
I spent some time to get the download site from Parallax new website.
Hope Parallax can put back the link at their homepage to make it easier for people who want to download Nuts & Volts article.
Anyhow their new website look nicer. I like it.

You might consider to use ISD 2560 if your sound files less than 60sec.
