Correct FTDI Driver for USB to Serial (RS-232) Adapter (Mac, et al)
![Zoot](https://forums.parallax.com/uploads/userpics/559/nW4UO23UEIWZ4.png)
The Parallax USB to Serial (RS-232) Adapter description states that it uses the "FTDI chip (FT232RL)".
I want to use this on Mac OS X, PowerPC, but:
The driver page at FTDI doesn't list any such device for *any* OS or chipset, just FT232R and the like.

Am I missing something here?

I believe the L suffix refers to the package type. The MacOSX drivers work fine. Try them.
Thanks!

I'm using MacBS2 2.1b1 (237) and the FT232RB driver from FTDI.
However, when MacBS2 launches it warns that the driver is known to be buggy with MacBS2 and problems may ensue. Mike, since you said it works fine, I just clicked OK. And then my laptop got really, really hot and exploded!
No, just kidding. Works like a charm. What a beautiful change to be programming my Stamp projects from something other than Windows 98.
Thanks.
