I just wanted to state how parallax new layout for the website is phenomenal! The website is much easier to browse. The ease of use of the website goes hand in hand with the ease of your micro controller products. Customer for life.

-Thanks,
Rich

    Rich,

Thank you. We've received some mixed feedback, as we expected. There are a number of tradeoffs with a switch of web platforms. But there are also new advantages. Internally, the new tools let us stream our on-line orders into the business software. At the moment we're re-keying the information, so you can imagine this will be a big boost. Not only is it about this internal efficiency, it's consistent with our goal of keeping our staff level fairly minimal. We're at 43 employees now and chaos/inneficiency sometimes increases with more staff.

For customers it should be faster, more scaleable, and more dynamic. It can also be updated by anybody in our office with permission, not just the few select webbies. Another big boost for our customers. This enables people in different departments, like tech support, to be able to make a change. Would have the further benefit of e-mail reduction, too.

I Personally do not like the new layout of the website. I am used to the old format and find it harder to navigate.

    Farraman,

If you hadn't been using the old web site before the new web site, and you saw them both for the first time side-by-side, then how would you feel?

Well, the new site is more appealing to the eye, but the navigation of the old website is better.

Unfortunately, I too would have to agree with Farraman. Navigating is a bit tricky but nothing that can't be learned again. Another downside was when I ordered a SoundPAL yesterday and had to re-register again on the new site too.

Over all nice job with the new look. I do like how it says something like "Customers who bought this also bought:". Very nice.

For me, the new site is six of one half a dozen of the other, except for two aspects that make actually buying stuff either difficult or impossible --

    - in Safari on Max OSX, whenever I click "final checkout" to actually buy something, the site *always* crashes my browser, forcing a restart. This didn't happen on the old site, and doesn't happen on any other sites I spend $$ at. In fact, I was going to buy some more toys on Thursday evening while away from the office and using my laptop, and I finally just gave up.

    - a "view all" on the product pages would be great (really like the new sort by / page pulldowns & links) -- otherwise, one has to potentially click through several pages of products to find what you're looking for.

    I said...
and I finally just gave up.

...that wasn't meant to be as grumpy as it sounded -- I wasn't gonna give up *forever* smile.gif

FYI -- I tested checkout forms tonight in Firefox and it seems to work OK.
